Lara Burnside, Senior Vice President, Chief Experience Officer / Strategy
Lara Burnside has been a healthcare professional for 25 years. Her career has been focused on creating a dynamic and engaged workforce leading to the highest levels achieved in the areas of employee and patient experience.
In collaboration with the entire JPS Network, Lara creates environments of engagement for employees and clinicians which lead to a strong partnership with patients and their families. Lara works to align the entire JPS Network through strategies and techniques in order drive the highest levels of human centered care.
Prior to joining JPS, Lara worked as a consultant for a dozen years leading healthcare organizations of all sizes on a journey to excellence. Lara is known for creating engaged learning environments that allow participants to learn fundamental skills for providing an exceptional experience focused on the whole person while creating a strong sense of community for the team.
As an executive focused on the strong outcomes achieved from an engaged team, Lara works daily to create a space to continually achieve employee engagement and patient’s perception of the care they receive at all JPS facilities. As a partner to the Chief Medical Officer, Lara and her teams work has been largely focused on reducing clinician burnout and improving well-being.
The patient experience division includes Spiritual Care and Ethics, Employee Assistance Program, Language Services, Patient Experience, Patient Relations, PBX Operators and the Office of Clinician Engagement.
Lara earned a Bachelor’s degree in Communications/Public Relations from the University of West Florida and a Master’s Degree in Healthcare Administration from the University of Cincinnati.
Burnside has dedicated a significant amount of time to helping people with special needs find employment and enjoyment in life. Her most recent efforts include coaching a Miracle League baseball team.
